Share your passion for the sport of Windsurfing with a child this summer by donating to the Calema Kid’s Camp Scholarship Fund! Calema introduced windsurfing camps for kids back in the 80’s and we now have “kids of kids” coming to our camps!
Calema’s Kid’s Camps teach more than a sport – life lessons are learned! As children have the opportunity to face the physical and sometimes mental challenge of windsurfing, they gain confidence in their ability to problem solve, they feel the satisfaction of learning a new skill and they learn that it is OK to laugh at themselves.
The thrill of that first time when all is in balance and the board glides over the water is evident on the young faces. Calema currently has two scholarship programs in place: The Josh Whitham Memorial Scholarship Fund – which sends 8 kids to 4 weeks of summer camp. New for 2011 – through combined funding from various anonymous donors – a new program is being started which will give 4 children 2 weeks of camp each. Your donation can add to the numbers of children benefiting from those programs, or can start a program of your own. For each 3 camps donated, a 4th will be given for FREE! That can impact one child for 4 weeks of camp or 4 individual children – your choice! For more info – contact Susie@calema.com
